Lisa J. Cines, CPA serves as A&C’s Officer in Charge of Business and Corporate Development. Prior to her current position she served as the firm’s Managing Officer for nine years and was a member of the Board of Directors. Under Lisa’s leadership, the firm was named to INSIDE Public Accounting’s Top 25 “Best of the Best” list for the years 2002 through 2009. She joined Aronson & Company in 1982 and has spent almost 30 years in the industry. Lisa earned her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 1981.
Before moving into firm management, she served as an officer in A&C’s Government & Technology Services Group, specializing in accounting, tax and consulting services with a special emphasis on implementing high level business plans and strategies.
Because of her reputation within the profession, Lisa is frequently asked to make presentations to various groups of accounting professionals, and she is an active participant in many industry organizations and community groups. Lisa was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) from 2006-2009, after previously having served on the AICPA Council. Her efforts have been recognized by several media and industry outlets and, in 2005, she was named one of the Washington Business Journal’s "25 Women Who Mean Business."
Lisa is a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement, the Executive Committee of the Greater Washington Initiative, the Advisory Board for the University of Maryland Accounting Department, and she sits on the Board of Rockville Economic Development, Inc. She currently represents A&C at the AICPA major firms group and the North American group of Praxity international.
