Man-Machine Systems Assessment

Lillian Harris, is a native of El Paso, Texas, and currently holds the position of President and CEO of Man-Machine Systems Assessment, Inc. (MSA). Founded in El Paso and headquartered in Washington, D.C., MSA is government services provider in the areas of Test and Evaluation and Homeland Security. Before stepping into her current role at MSA Lilly had the opportunity to develop an innate business acumen by serving as MSA’s Marketing Director, Human Resources Director, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President since her employment began in 2003. Since taking the helm in 2008, Ms. Harris has steered the company on a path of expansion and innovation, adding four new business lines, increasing revenue by 40% and streamlining production and management processes. These ambitious leaps forward have earned MSA recognition in 2009, 2010 and 2011 as “one of the fastest growing companies in the United States” by both Inc Magazine and Hispanic Business Magazine. Even more impressively, MSA revenues totaled more than $10.3 million in 2010.

Ms. Harris’ accomplishments have also earned significant personal recognition. In 2009, the Washington Business Journal conferred on Ms. Harris the “Rising Star – Women Who Mean Business” award along with the further recognition as a "Minority Business Leader" in 2010, and just recently named her to the “40 under 40” list.

Lilly’s interests and activities extend far beyond the boardroom into the local, national and international communities. A Junior Achievement Volunteer, Lilly teaches and encourages entrepreneurship and economics to select students at Kenmore Middle School. As one of the team captains and top fundraisers for Blondes versus Brunettes from 2007 to 2011, Lilly has helped raise over thirty thousand dollars to benefit and support the Alzheimer’s Association. In September 2009, she traveled to the remote and volatile Kibera Slums in Kenya as a volunteer teacher and mentor to children at the “Drug Fighter’s” elementary school. She serves as a member of several boards including Luke’s Wings, Cross Cultural Thresholds and as a Board of Governor for Hispanic Creo. Lilly views these opportunities to give back to her community as her duty as a citizen, and has integrated these values into the corporate culture of MSA.

Ms. Harris holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University, a Certificates in Film Production and Producing from New York University, and is currently enrolled in the Harvard Business School's Owner/President Management (OPM) Program.
