National Capital Area
As the calendar year comes to a close and you make your 2008 resolutions, we encourage you to talk with your children about the importance of budgeting. Use this real-life teaching opportunity to show them how to properly assess their spending habits and put together a manageable financial plan for the coming year.

We at Junior Achievement are committed to educating today's youth for tomorrow's global economy. With the help of thousands of dedicated volunteers, we will deliver financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs in classrooms across the Greater Washington Region to 39,000 students by the end of this school year.

As always, thanks for your support of Junior Achievement.

Football Lessons - 4th & Life!

700 Washington area high school football players participated in the annual 4th & Life High School Football Forum at FedEx Field. Junior Achievement and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation delivered curriculum through the players and coaches emphasizing the importance of positive attitude, education and preparing for life after football. Redskin players conducted a question and answer session with the students. For more information, contact Amy.MarcenaroHeckman@JA.org.

Entrepreneurial Spirit!

The University of Maryland chapter of the National Black MBA Association recently spent the day teaching sixth graders about entrepreneurship. Using the JA program - It's My Business - students explored definitions of entrepreneurship with the MBA students while learning about practical, real world applications. To get your professional organization involved in volunteering for JA, contact Unique.Morris@JA.org or or click the Volunteer icon at the top of this newsletter.

Gift for the Future - Make a difference in the lives of local young people!

In this season of giving, please add Junior Achievement to your list for consideration. JA programs, teaching financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship, are provided at no cost to students. We will serve more than 39,000 youth in the Greater Washington Region this school year. A contribution of $50 supports the participation of one student in a JA program. We invite you take up the challenge with us. Please click here to make an investment in the future.
