The school year is in full swing, and once again Junior Achievement volunteers are back in classrooms across Greater Washington.
This fall is a time of great excitement for JA. Last week saw the opening of Finance Park for its second year, and this week will see the kick-off of the JA Bowl's fall season.
The Junior Achievement Essay Competition closes at the end of this month, and at the end of November, five outstanding new Laureates will be inducted into the Washington Business Hall of Fame.
Despite the economic turmoil in our nation and around the world, JA's commitment to our mission remains steadfast: to empower young people to own their economic success. We invite you to join us in our pursuit this goal.
As always, your support makes our work possible.
Thank you.

Finance Park Opens Doors
For Second Year
Last week 504 eighth graders from Whitman Middle School kicked off the second year of Junior Achievement Finance Park in grand fashion.
After twenty hours of intense classroom curriculum, these students participated in a day-long simulation in the 20,000 square foot "mini-city.” There, they adopted a fictitious life situation and created a balanced monthly budget for themselves and their family. Nearly 14,000 students participated in the program during its inaugural year.
