The Washington Business Hall of Fame is an annual induction ceremony honoring outstanding business leaders and entrepreneurs who, through their work, have made a significant contribution to the quality of life in Greater Washington.
The Washington Business Hall of Fame is a black tie gala culminating in the Induction Ceremony during which the Laureates are inducted into the Washington Business Hall of Fame. Founded in 1988 by The Greater Washington Board of Trade, Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, and Washingtonian, the 2017 event raised over $1.4 million to support Junior Achievement's financial literacy programs for K-12 students in DC, MD, and VA.
A call for nominations from the general public is made several months in advance of the event. A nomination committee composed of members from the three founding organizations makes final selections. Honorees must be either in the capstone years of their career or retired from the company most closely associated with their business accomplishments.
