Alexandra Armstrong has worked in the investment field for over 30 years. In 1977, she was the first person certified
as a financial planner in Washington, D.C. Previously a Senior Vice President of a New York Stock Exchange firm, she is
now Chairman of Armstrong, Fleming & Moore, Inc., a personal financial planning and asset management firm based in
Washington, D.C. She served for seven years on the Board of the International Association for Financial Planning,
retiring as Chairman in 1987. A past President of the Boy Scouts National Capital Council, she serves on that board as
well as the boards of Reading is Fundamental and the IWF Leadership Foundation.
Ms. Armstrong is frequently quoted in national publications and was selected as one of the “250 Best” financial advisors
in the United States by Worth magazine. She lectures nationally on financial planning and has been a guest on several
national television shows including Wall $treet Week, CBS This Morning and Good Morning America. She has co-authored a
book for widows called “On Your Own: A Widow’s Passage to Emotional and Financial Well-Being” published by Dearborn in
1993 (Third Edition 2000).
