Linda D. Rabbitt is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Rand Construction Corporation, a commercial construction company that specializes in building renovations and tenant build-outs. In 2007, Rand was ranked the 38th largest woman-owned business and the 2nd largest woman-owned commercial construction company nationwide by Pink Magazine.
Ms. Rabbitt is a past Chair of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. She is past president of the Women's Forum of Washington, D.C., the Washington Building Congress, and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Federal City Council, and past member of the Board of Directors of The Economic Club of Washington and Leadership Washington. Ms. Rabbitt is a trustee of George Washington University. She is also a member of the D.C. Building Industry Association and the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Ms. Rabbitt sits on the Washington Mutual Investors Fund Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of Watson Wyatt Worldwide and Brookfield Properties. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
In 2005, Ms. Rabbitt was awarded the "Outstanding Impact Award by the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and the International Women's Forum "Women Who Make a Difference" award. She was also awarded the Washington Business Journal "Women Who Mean Business" award and the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital "Exceptional Leadership" award in 2004. She was named Washingtonian of the Year by Washintonian Magazine for her community service in 2003.
In March 2002, Ms. Rabbitt was named "Washington Woman of Genius" by Trinity College. She has been honored by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce with the Virginia Vanguard Award as the Top Construction Company and has received the Person of Vision Award from Arlington County. She has annually been named a Top Woman Business Owner by the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Washington Business Journal since 1992.
Ms. Rabbitt holds a Master of Arts degree from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan. She has two daughters, Ashleigh and Lauren. Ms. Rabbitt and her husband, John Whalen, reside in Bethesda, Maryland.
