Junior Achievement of Greater Washington has participated in two professionally-administered evaluations for the JA Personal Finance and JA Success Skills programs. To learn more about other professionally-administered evaluations, please visit the Full Evaluation Reports page.


After completing the JA program, all of our volunteers and educators are asked to complete a brief evaluation to assist us in better serving the students of the Greater Washington Region. The following lists the percentages of the 216 volunteers that responded in the 2009-2010 academic year who agreed or strongly agreed with each statement:
  • 93.0% - "The lessons were appropriate in length."
  • 95.4% - "The Volunteer Guidebook with activity instructions was easy to understand, use, and follow."
  • 91.6% - "The program's content was geared for the skill and ability range of the students."
  • 94.4% - "The program was relevant to the academic development needs of the students."
  • 97.7% - "The students enjoyed and were engaged by the JA program."
  • 98.1% - "As a volunteer, I believe that JA was a valuable and positive experience for the students."
  • 98.6% - "I have found my participation in JA personally rewarding."
  • 96.7% - "I looked forward to teaching my JA class."
  • 91.4% - "Overall, I had a good rapport with the teacher."
  • 85.6% - "The training session prepared me to present the JA program."
  • 96.2% - "I would like to volunteer with JA again."

When asked to provide an overall rating of their Junior Achievement experience, 99.5% of volunteers ranked it as "Good" or "Excellent."


The following lists the percentage of the 134 educators that responded in the 2009-2010 academic year who agreed or strongly agreed with each statement:

  • 88.1% - "The JA program enhanced the curriculum currently being studied in the classroom."
  • 91.0% - "The presence of a volunteer from the local community enhanced the curriculum currently being studied in the classroom."
  • 91.8% - "The JA program correlates with state standards and objectives."
  • 88.7% - "The program's content was geared for the skill and ability range of the students."
  • 94.0% - "The program was relevant to the academic development needs of the students."
  • 93.2% - "The students enjoyed and were engaged by the JA program."
  • 93.9% - "As an educator, I believe that JA was a valuable and positive experience for my students."
  • 93.2% - "My volunteer was well prepared.
  • 94.7% - "My volunteer was effective at interacting with the students.
  • 96.2% - "My volunteer was a good role model."
  • 88.2% - "JA staff members responded to my concerns in a timely manner throughout the program."
  • 91.6% - "I would like my classroom to participate in JA again."
  • 93.1% - "I would recommend JA to other educators at my school."
When asked to provide an overall rating of their Junior Achievement experience, 94.0% of educators ranked it as "Good" or "Excellent."
