Junior Achievement USA: A Solution to the Workforce Skills Gap
In our continuing efforts to position Junior Achievement as a solution provider to major societal issues affecting the health of the nation, we are excited to release our second report in a series of position papers - Junior Achievement: A Solution to the Workforce Skills Gap.
This paper provides detailed information about how Junior Achievement is addressing the increasing number of workers in the U.S.A. who lack the education and training needed to fill the demand of the current and future workforce. In a recent study, more than half (53 percent) of U.S. companies report a major challenge in recruiting non-managerial employees with the skills and knowledge needed, despite the fact that unemployment is hovering around 9 percent and millions of individuals are looking for employment. This paper provides an overview of the problem, promising practices, and how Junior Achievement is a solution provider.
