Ernst & Young, LLP and Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area (JANCA)
are pleased to present Brian Hendricks with the 2005 Youth Entrepreneur
of the Year Award. This honor recognizes a high school-aged student in the
Greater Washington Region who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit promoted by
Junior Achievement and who demonstrates the ability to successfully launch
and manage a business.
Brian Hendricks, a junior at Winston Churchill High School, has always been
intrigued with business and computers. What started as a hobby fixing computers
for friends and family eventually grew into StartUpPC – a growing computer
manufacturer and on-site service provider. Over the years, Brian has expanded
his product scope, developed unique operating and marketing techniques, and
used his web design skills to create an advanced company website. To learn
more about StartUpPC visit the website at
www.startuppc.com.
In addition to demonstrating considerable entrepreneurial drive and talent,
he has managed to effectively balance his school work and extracurricular
activities. Brian's long-term goal is to study business at a four year college
and establish StartUpPC franchises on college campuses.
The Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to Brian Hendricks
at the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Greater Washington Awards
Gala on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at The Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner. Brian
also represented Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area and won the
2005
JA Entrepreneur of the Year competition, hosted by JA Worldwide.
Congratulations Brian Hendricks!
