JA® IN A DAY DELIVERY METHOD

JA in a Day events take place over one school day and volunteers teach all 5 lessons of a certain JA accredited program to students in various grade levels from Kindergarten to sixth grade at several elementary schools in Virginia Public Schools. The volunteers cover all lessons in one visit and can teach in pairs (permitting number of volunteers). The program being taught any given day depends on the age level being taught. The list of programs that are taught in Northern Virginia are listed to the right. 


TRADITIONAL DELIVERY METHOD

Training: 1 hour, scheduled at your convenience
Prep Time: 30-60 minutes prior to each visit to the classroom
Teaching Time: Varies

 

The weekly Junior Achievement® program takes place in a child's classroom and is coordinated directly with the teacher. There are different time slots available for each school. Slots are filled continually so please contact a member of our programs team as soon as possible to reserve the one that works for you.

JA Our Community introduces students to the intersection of work readiness and early elementary grades social studies learning objectives, including how citizens benefit from and contribute to a community's success.

Program: JA Ourselves®
(Five - 30 minute sessions) 
JA Ourselves introduces kindergarten students to the intersection of financial literacy and early elementary grades social studies learning objectives. Through hands-on classroom activities, the program provides students with an introduction to personal economics and the choices consumers make to meet their needs and wants.

Program: JA It's My Future® Blended Model
(Six - 45 minute sessions) 
JA It's My Future Blended Model offers middle school students practical information to help prepare them for the working world. Students will develop the personal-branding and job-hunting skills needed to earn a job.

Program: JA Global Marketplace® Blended Model
(Six - 45 minute sessions) 
JA Global Marketplace Blended Model introduces middle school students to the global marketplace and the ways in which countries buy and sell from each other. Through completion of this program, students will gain an understanding of producers and consumers in the interconnected global market. They will analyze the similarities and differences among countries and the effects of free enterprise.
