Junior Achievement of Greater Washington to take part in Do More 24 online fundraiser on June 2

On Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 12:00 am until 11:59 pm, Junior Achievement of Greater Washington will be participating in Do More 24, a 24-hour online fundraiser powered by United Way of the National Capital Area (United Way NCA).

Do More 24 is a fundraiser that brings together hundreds of nonprofit organizations, partners and donors committed to creating impact in our community on one donation platform. United Way NCA created this event as a way for donors to rally around one focused day of giving to create the greatest impact together as a community.

Donors can contribute to any of the more than 600 participating nonprofits to fund programs and services right here in our own community. Last year, 11,000 Do More 24 donors raised more than $1.4 million, which allowed nonprofit organizations to fill holes in their budget, buy desperately needed new equipment, and serve more people in need across our region.

The participating non-profits are divided into eight categories based on their organization's mission. The categories include:

  • Animal Welfare
  • Arts & Culture
  • Environment & Community Improvement
  • Education
  • Health & Human Services
  • Religion
  • Financial Stability
  • Workforce Readiness

Junior Achievement of Greater Washington is registered in the Financial Stability category. You can contribute to Junior Achievement of Greater Washington's fundraising efforts on June 2 by visiting their fundraising website. You can also visit Do More 24's website to learn more about the campaign or follow United Way NCA on Facebook and Twitter to get reminders about the event.
