MedStar Health has joined the growing list of Storefront Partners that will play host a Storefront at Junior Achievement of Greater Washington’s forthcoming JA Finance Park Montgomery County, set to open in 2018. Under the leadership of 2016 Washington Business Hall of Fame Laureate, Kenneth A. Samet, FACHE, MedStar Health has agreed to serve as the Healthcare Storefront partner at JA’s newest JA Finance Park.
“MedStar Health is proud to support educational programs in the communities we serve," said Samet. "Through our partnership with Junior Achievement and the JA Finance Park program, we are helping to ensure that young people have the skills, education, and resources needed to make responsible financial decisions, especially as it relates to budgeting for their health care needs as adults.”
Students are used to simply depending on their parents' health insurance for trips to the doctor and other medical expenses. But as soon as the students enter JA Finance Park® Montgomery County and become an “adult for a day,” those decisions become theirs to make and afford. With rising health care costs to consider, as the Healthcare Storefront, MedStar will play a critical role in teaching students about their options and the realities of staying well.
JA Finance Park Montgomery County partners will make this innovative experience possible for 12,000 young people a year.
