2017 JA Entrepreneurship Summit Partner Competes on ABC’s 'Shark Tank'

On Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, SUNNIVA Super Coffee, JA's 2017 Entrepreneurship Summit business partner, appeared on ABC's hit TV show "Shark Tank."

SUNNIVA is a super coffee startup founded locally by brothers Jordan, Jake and Jimmy DeCicco whose goal is "to provide ambitious achievers with the healthy nourishment and motivation they need to create the future." Each bottle delivers the amount of caffeine equivalent to an 8 oz. cup of coffee and contains trendy ingredients like coconut oil and no-lactose milk protein.

The brothers sought a $500,000 investment in exchange for a 4.5 percent stake in the company from one of the five “sharks." Watch their business pitch here.

Last year, the brothers partnered with Junior Achievement of Greater Washington for the 2nd annual JA Entrepreneurship Summit Pitch Competition, an interactive, Shark Tank-style program where students learn to develop and market their own startup product.

The brothers mentored the students with all aspects of their proposed solutions including finances, marketing strategy, production, and more.

Their message to students at the Summit was "You can be whoever you want, you just need to believe in yourself, commit to your dreams, and relentlessly work through every obstacle you face."

JA congratulates SUNNIVA on an awesome "Shark Tank" pitch and thanks the trio for their commitment to helping empower future entrepreneurs with the skills to succeed in the future as we gear up for the 2018 Junior Achievement Entrepreneurship Summit in July. Click here for more information.
